Opinion Poll?
Q. I daily read many liberal blogs ranting about all the evil injustice and loss of rights caused to the American people by the Patriot Act. I would like to start a quick poll so that you all can tell me just one right you have personally lost and how it has had a negative or adverse effect on your life. Thanks in advance for your participation.
Asked by Right Wing. - Fri Mar 21 12:50:52 2008 - - 11 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The alleged loss of rights and the paranoia created by the loons on the far left concerning the Patriot Act is absolutely ridiculous. Unless you routinely call Iran to confirm the transfer of money so that you can continue your flight lessons - I doubt any law abiding citizen has suffered any infringement on their rights. Capital Hill is under a 24/7 microscope - and if you haven't noticed, the extremely few abuses of this law have been quickly exposed and severely dealt with. Examples include the earlier unauthorized FBI wiretapping and the most recent breach of passport information.

A private opinion poll is conducted for a politician to determine what proportion of the population favors dec?
Q. A private opinion poll is conducted for a politician to determine what proportion of the population favors decriminalizing marijuana possession. How large a sample is needed in order to be 90% confident that the sample proportion will not differ from the true proportion by more than 5%
Asked by Usernammy - Tue Jul 7 11:07:01 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. This questions requires that you provide the standard deviation of the sample proportion or some sample proportion value that favored marijuana decriminalization. use the formula n = [ 1.64 SD / 0.05 ]^2 If you have the proportion value, compute the SD as follows. sqrt[p(1-p)], where p=0.13, 0.40 etc. 1.64 comes from the Normal probability table for 90 % confidence.

Another Opinion Poll: Does a good deed still count if no one else knows you did it?
Q. If you do some good deed, but no one is around to see it and no one knows you did it, does it still count in your opinion? Thanks for adding to the sampling of my poll.
Asked by Abby Normal - Sun Dec 13 10:31:49 2009 - - 22 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Not to sound vain or selfish but good deeds are part of what ya do just cuz ya wanna, no matter if they are even acknowledged. Not goin relgious on ya, but sometimes if ya do somethin good maybe ya shouldn't always expect a big hug and thanks. Course on the other side of that is the saying, "No goodness goes unpunished" So I guess turn the other cheek sometimes mean we're still gonna get spanked?

opinion poll what animal makes a better pet over all cats or dogs?
Q. I have 2 cats and I know that lots of individual factors about animals tell who is the better pet. For some it may be cats for some it may be dogs. I am just trying to get an overall view. Thanks for participating in my little poll
Asked by lita ozzy bear - Tue Nov 7 22:38:20 2006 - - 11 Answers - 0 Comments

A. That depends on what kind of person you are. If your an inside person who just wants to lounge around all day and sleep, maybe a cat is better for you. If you want to go outside and go to the park and play with your dog, a dog is a better choice for you. Cats seem to be lower maintence than dogs, dogs have to go on walks, get the attention, etc. Most cats just want their food and to find a nice warm spot to go to to sleep. Some cats don't even want to be bothered at all.Like I said it depends on your personality.

A. Yes, I think he did it, just as I think he killed Natalee Holloway in Aruba. I hope he will be charged and tried in Peru. And I really, really hope they nail him this time and send him to jail for life in Peru.

Would a White House wedding be the answer to solving the President's negative opinion poll ratings?
Q. Often, our public attention span is fleeting, at best. Do you think that a White House wedding/media frenzy - superficial as it may seem - would eradicate negative feelings toward the Bush Administration and all of it's mishandling, miscommunicating, just "missed" altogether 8/years?

Have you ever been part of a political opinion poll?
Q. We keep getting inundated with opinion poll results...who are the people they are polling? How does someone get to participate? Would you want to participate? How reliable or accurate do you think they are? Does the result of those polls affect how you think or feel about the subject? Can our decisions be 'molded' by them?Do they tell us how we should feel and if we aren't in the majority of the answerers can it or should it 'shame' us into changing our opinion?

A. Shoot as the elections get closer I know I will start to get calls on a daily basis, that's how it was last election. Poll people were just driving me up a wall. I participate most of the time unless their timing is bad. I do not pay attention to the polls I vote for what I feel is right. It is not a popularity contest and this is not high school.

Opinion poll : who are the best five players of all-time eligible for the baseball hall of fame not yet in?
Q. I can think of Pete Rose and Joe Jackson as my shoe-in (no pun intended) answers for this one but wanted to put it out to the group. This could include past players who never got voted in by veterans' committee, but - due to the eligibility restriction not the players who retired so recently they have not yet been named on any ballots. Thanks in advance for your answers, I'm sure this questions has been asked in the past but I'm not sure it has been asked recently.

A. Just five, huh? Well, it's a little hard. The writers have done such a crummy job over the years that there are quite a few, actually. Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe Jackson simply are not eligible to go in. Unless some new evidence -- hard evidence -- emerges we'll always have to look into the Baseball Encyclopedia to find them because they won't be, and don't deserve to be, in the hall. 1.) Bert Blyleven -- he is being ROBBED 2.) Ron Santo -- the NL's Brooks Robinson 3.) Thurman Munson -- Bench is in, Fisk is in, and there was only one other catcher in that golden age of catchers. 4.) Tommy John -- all those wins, a post-season icon, and his name is forever on the surgery that saves so many pitchers' careers. 5.) Roger Maris -- he held… [cont.]
