Nounpolicies
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A policy is typically described as a principle or rule to guide decisions and achieve rational outcome(s). The term is not normally used to denote what is actually done, this is normally referred to as either procedure or protocol. Whereas a policy will contain the 'what' and the 'why', procedures or protocols contain the 'what', the 'how', the 'where', and the 'when'. Policies are generally adopted by the Board of or senior governance body within an organisation where as procedures or protocols would be developed and adopted by senior executive officers. The term may apply to government, private sector organizations and groups, and individuals. Presidential executive orders, corporate privacy policies, and parliamentary rules of order are all examples of policy. Policy differs from rules or law. While law can compel or prohibit behaviors (e.g. a law requiring the payment of taxes on income), policy merely guides actions toward those that are most likely to achieve a desired outcome. Policy or policy study may also refer to the process of making important organizational decisions, including the identification of different alternatives such as programs or spending priorities, and choosing among them on the basis of the impact they will have. Policies can be understood as political, management, financial, and administrative mechanisms arranged to reach explicit goals. ImpactFrom Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License What Specific Policies That Either the Democrats or Republicans are Advocating Would Help the Economy? Q. We all have our partsian political views, and a lot of answers on Yahoo and in debate and the media in general are based on simpistic biases and stupidity, and I would like to get above that. I have my own views, but I am curious on what general perception and thought are. What specific policies that the Democrats or Republicans are advocating do you think would help the economy? Please explain why and how such policies would improve the economy. No "Bush is dumb" or "Dems are Commies" answers please. Asked by tv - Sun Dec 2 14:44:43 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. The only thing I've seen from the lot of them (and I haven't been paying much attention) is Fred Thompson's ideas about partly-privatizing social security, and I he also came out with a simplified tax structure, along with making permanent the Bush tax cuts. I like Huckabee, but on economic issues the guy turns into a regular 1890s populist, he'd be a disaster unless he surrounded himself with sensible advisors who've taken a basic economics class. Answered by KevinStud99 - Mon Dec 3 09:22:55 2007 How are America's economic policies with Mexico damaging, and does that affect illegal immigration? Q. Also, what specific policies were put in place to make it so hard for Mexicans to legally immigrate? Asked by Josh K - Wed May 5 23:34:17 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. They aren't - we constantly give them millions. None - in 1965 they changed immigration law to favor third world loser countries. We take in more legal immigrants than the rest of the world combined. If it is so difficult how come millions are capable of doing it every year. That's right - illegals can't pass the medical and criminal background checks. The 1986 amnesty excluded Australians but included mexicans. The source of your information is extremely inaccurate.
